Total Overdose is a third-person video game that follows the formula created by the Grand Theft Auto saga, the mix of action, spectacularity and the player’s freedom to move around the city that is presented to us.
Ernesto’s son Tommy, a high-ranking DEA agent, travels to Mexico in search of Marco, his crucial contact with the Morales Cartel.
Tommy severely injures himself in a grenade explosion while smashing a Virgillo gang convoy and gas station. Having no other options, Tommy asks his imprisoned younger brother Ramiro to take the job.
Ramiro saves Marco from a band of Virgillos who want to kill him for winning too much at poker, and Marco leads him to Cesar Morales, a local gang head who boasts about knowing Ernesto’s murderer.
Morales dispatches Ramiro to steal Virgillo’s treasured car, only for him to blow it up. Then, Ramiro takes on the responsibility of recovering three stolen trucks that Morales will use in his trafficking scheme.
Ramiro successfully steals the trucks and destroys the Virgillos’ ship. Angel, Morales’ chauffeur, overhears Ramiro chatting to Tommy and discovers his identity.
